A publication of the Society of Biological Inorganic Chemistry
The Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry (JBIC) seeks to promote the field of biological inorganic chemistry internationally. This journal is primarily concerned with advances in the understanding of systems involving one or more metal ions set in a biological matrix—particularly, metalloproteins and metal-nucleic acid complexes—in order to understand biological function at the atomic level. Manuscripts describing high quality and original research concerned with metal ions or other inorganic species and having biological relevance are invited for submission. Mini-reviews, reports, and commentaries are also encouraged.
For contents, instructions for authors, and announcements please visit the Journal of Biological Inorganic Chemistry online. View JBIC tables of contents at this address.
Subscribing to JBIC
Libraries please contact Springer to subscribe to the journal. SBIC Members receive the journal for free, both the printed journal and access to the electronic version.
Submitting to JBIC
Please log directly onto the site: mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jbic
Enter your User ID and Password if you know them. If you do not know these but believe that you have an account, enter your email address under Password Help on the right side of the screen. You will then receive an automatic email with your User ID and Password if you are already in the system. If you have never authored or reviewed for JBIC, create a new account by following the instructions given on the screen.
Electronically submitting your paper to Manuscript Central is preferred because it allows the editorial review process go faster; however, if website submission is not an option for you, you may also send a cover letter and one complete electronic copy of the manuscript (including figures, tables, schemes, and any supplementary material) on disk to the Office of the Chief Editor:
JBIC/Lawrence Que, Jr.
University of Minnesota
Department of Chemistry
207 Pleasant Street SE
Minneapolis, MN 55455-0431
Tel +1 612 6269405
Fax +1 612 6250078
Specify on the disk the name of the manuscript document and the author. The main text should be in a text program (doc, docx, rtf) and you can send this with figures/schemes inserted or with a seperate figure/scheme file for all (doc, docx, ppt) or each (high-resolution graphic format such as jpg, tif). Supplementary material files should be in pdf format only.
